Biography

Camryn Prejean, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant who began her career as a nurse before attending Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to earn her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2021. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Louisiana State University. Camryn joined Kelsey-Seybold’s General Surgery department in January 2026.
Camryn’s career choice as a physician assistant was inspired by her lifelong interest in medicine and helping others. In addition to assisting in the operating room, she sees patients in the pre- and post-surgical settings — diagnosing conditions, providing pre-operative education, and managing post-operative care. Camryn also works with patients on nonoperative management of their conditions when possible and enjoys working with complex conditions. Her favorite part of being a physician assistant is the intellectual challenge of continual learning every day. She finds it especially rewarding to work as part of a collaborative team in helping others.
