Karen McGuire, NP

Karen McGuire, DNP, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse practitioner who earned her doctorate with honors in family nurse practitioner studies at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma, in 2023. While working on her doctorate, Karen also cared for patients as a registered nurse, having already completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at New Mexico State University in 2018. She joined Kelsey-Seybold’s Family Medicine department in October 2025.
Karen’s own struggles with chronic illnesses as a child inspired her to become a nurse and eventually a nurse practitioner who is dedicated to treating people, not just the illness that affects them. As a primary care provider, she sees patients of all ages, providing well care, treatment for acute illness and injuries such as seasonal viruses and lacerations, and management of chronic conditions. She also has particular expertise in allergies as well as respiratory and immune system conditions such as asthma and COPD. Karen enjoys figuring out how to make her patients feel their best with the lEast amount of medication possible and then seeing them improve over time.
