Biography

Abigail Ahyeon Song, OD, is an optometrist who attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, completing her medical degree in 2024. After graduation, she completed a primary care Optometry residency with an emphasis in ocular pathology at the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center. Bilingual in English and Korean, Abigail joined Kelsey-Seybold in September 2025.
Impressed by her own grandfather’s optometrist, who expertly managed his glaucoma and helped him retain his vision, Abigail directly witnessed how eye health can dramatically affect quality of life. She strives to make the same impact for her own patients by providing attentive, thorough, compassionate care — helping them to feel seen, respected, and confident in their eye health. In addition to providing vision screenings, Abigail diagnoses and manages a wide range of eye conditions, including dry eye, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and eye infections. She also co-manages surgical cases for conditions like cataracts and provides urgent care for symptoms such as red eyes, vision changes, or foreign body injuries. As an optometrist, Abigail most enjoys having the ability to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives, whether it’s helping someone see clearly for the first time, managing a chronic eye condition, or detecting a systemic health issue early.
