Biography

William Burt, MD, completed medical school at LSU Health Sciences Center and residency at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. His patient care approach is to help patients live their best lives by fully educating them about their conditions.

Dr. Burt originally pursued medicine to give back to the community by helping others. He has been working in healthcare since his last year of high school, when he was a CNA in a nursing home. He chose to work in family medicine so he could remain versatile and help patients with a variety of health conditions. His favorite part of his job is seeing patients improve after following his recommendations.

Dr. Burt was born in southern Louisiana and lives in Tampa Bay, Florida. He enjoys hiking, biking, camping and traveling with his family—especially to Colorado, Texas, and the Appalachians. He also enjoys home and electronics repair and computer programming. Clinically, he is particularly interested in helping patients manage allergies and diabetes. He is also passionate about geriatric care and preventive medicine. He is board-certified by ABFM.
