Biography

Daniel Murphy, MD, practices a patient-centered approach grounded in attentive listening, which he believes is both therapeutic and essential to the diagnostic process. He enjoys working with patients of all ages and has a strong interest in medical pathology.

Dr. Murphy was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned his medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine, completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Wyoming in Casper and pursued fellowship training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. Asthma, preventive care and sports medicine are some of his top clinical interests.

Dr. Murphy enjoys and values the opportunity to have a positive influence on patient compliance and outcomes. His goal is to help patients develop a clear understanding of their diagnoses and care so that they can achieve better overall health. Dr. Murphy lives in El Paso, Texas, and enjoys traveling in his free time.

    Well, under his Care, two appointments he was awesome. I had just told him on [omitted] that I really really like to be comfortable with him and I get a letter in in the mail that he has been moved. I am going to miss him.

    He just came in and sat down whole time. He was with me about 8 minutes. He did not check my heart, lungs, etc. Maybe I am so used to Dr. Cajas. Dr. Cajas went through the results of the blood test. Also, he would check the result of the blood pressure. If it was low or high, he would test the blood presurre again, himself. In other words, Dr. Cajas always went over everything with me, as his patient. In other words, Dr. Cajas went above and beyond. Dr. Murphy did none of the above. I would have at least expected him to check my lungs, because I told him that I got sick and had trouble breathing a few weeks before seeing him. Sorry, but Dr. Murphy cannot even stand in Dr. Cajas shadow. I was Dr. Cajas' patient for at least twenty years.

    Dr Murphy was very good at listening to my concerns, which makes it easy to communicate well & make my visit count. I had a few questions & he answered them in a way that I understood. He's very nice & easy to talk to. He moves things along nicely & I didn't feel rushed, but I felt like I wasn't going to be there all day, either. Many thanks to his assistant, Veronica, too. She's awesome, too.
