Alexander Paiva, DO

Alexander Paiva, DO, completed medical school at University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine and residency at Texas Institute for Graduate Medical Education and Research. He takes a comprehensive and holistic approach to patient care.

Dr. Paiva has a background in mental health counseling, but later pursued medicine to expand the ways he could care for his patients. He chose to specialize in internal medicine because he views it as the foundation of medicine and enjoys managing the complexity of multiple comorbid conditions. Dr. Paiva sees his patients as whole people and greatly values their input. His favorite part of his job is working with a great team and helping patients improve and maintain their health.

Dr. Paiva was born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts, and is married with three children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling to new and fun places, reading books and playing soccer, chess and football with his children. Clinically, he is particularly interested in helping patients manage behavioral health conditions, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and thyroid conditions. He is fluent in English and Portuguese, and conversant in Spanish.
