Biography

Qui Mai, PA-C, completed her undergraduate studies at Prairie View A&M University, graduating summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in biology in 2021. She went on to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas to complete her Master of Physician Assistant Studies, graduating in 2024. Qui joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic’s Gastroenterology department as a physician assistant in February 2025.
Growing up in an immigrant family, Qui often witnessed language barriers when her parents sought healthcare for themselves and for her. These experiences inspired Qui to pursue a career in medicine, to ease access to care for Vietnamese patients and other minority communities. Qui provides a trusting and supportive environment for patients seeking care for gastrointestinal concerns such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)—a chronic condition where stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, often causing heartburn and irritation—along with constipation, colonoscopy screening, a positive Cologuard result, elevated liver enzymes, a family history of colon cancer, a history of colon polyps, and yearly stable follow-ups. She prioritizes educating her patients on their medical conditions to enhance their health outcomes and quality of life.
With a patient care approach that is grounded in compassion and empathy, Qui recognizes that she is entrusted with caring for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. By using active listening and incorporating her patients’ preferences into their medical management decisions, Qui ensures her patients feel truly heard, understood, and supported, so they can leave with peace of mind and confidence in their care.
Away from the clinic, Qui enjoys going on walks with her dog, watching Netflix, and spending time with family and friends.
