Biography

Hyon S. Kang, DO, first completed his medical degree at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa in 2000. He then went to the Willford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas to complete his internship and Internal Medicine residency in 2003. From there, Dr. Kang went on to complete a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville in 2006. After caring for patients in a variety of settings, including military and private practices, Dr. Kang joined Kelsey-Seybold in March 2025.
A board-certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Kang dedicated himself to the pursuit of medicine in honor of his older sister, who has a disability. He has a wealth of experience in taking care of the most challenging gastrointestinal problems, treating patients for trouble swallowing, liver disorders, inflammatory bowel diseases, and more. His clinical interests include the treatment of acid reflux, peptic ulcers, biliary and pancreatic disorders, and colon cancer prevention. In his work with patients, Dr. Kang loves being able to help them make changes that improve their lives.
