Biography

Mayur Parepally, MD, attended Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, earning his medical degree in 2011. He went on to the University of Illinois Chicago, where he completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency in 2014. From there, Dr. Parepally went to the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, where he completed a Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship in 2018. He joined Kelsey-Seybold as a board-certified gastroenterologist in January 2025.
Dr. Parepally became a physician to help other people, following the example of his parents, who both practiced medicine to make a positive impact on their own patients' lives. Dr. Parepally treats a variety of gastrointestinal symptoms and conditions, including acid reflux, abdominal pain and bloating, nausea, vomiting, difficulty swallowing, constipation, and diarrhea. He has particular expertise in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel disease, functional gastrointestinal diseases, and chronic liver disease. Dr. Parepally also helps prevent and diagnose gastrointestinal cancers through screening and other procedures. For Dr. Parepally, the most fulfilling part of practicing medicine is building meaningful bonds with his patients and colleagues.
Dr. Parepally understands that a good doctor-patient relationship is based on open communication and trust, so he strives to create a comfortable environment where patients feel they can confide in him. In order to provide the best care tailored to each individual, he collaborates with his patients, their families, and their other healthcare providers to leverage a multidisciplinary approach for the most effective solutions.
Dr. Parepally likes to spend time with his family and friends and enjoy all the activities that Houston has to offer. He is also passionate about traveling and experiencing new places and cultures.
Dr. Parepally’s clinical interests include new advancements in the management of inflammatory bowel disease and utilizing best practices in preventing colon cancer. He is also committed to patient safety and improving quality outcomes in healthcare.
