Biography

Amy Zingalis, MD, is a board-certified pathologist who attended the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), earning her medical degree in 2002. She remained at UTHealth McGovern Medical School to complete its Pediatric Residency Program in 2003 and the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency Program in 2007. Afterward, Dr. Zingalis went to San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium to complete a cytopathology fellowship in 2012. Prior to joining Kelsey-Seybold in November 2024, she held a number of leadership positions with the United States Army, Baylor College of Medicine, and Quest Diagnostics.
Moved to practice medicine by her interest in science – and by the television shows Quincy and St. Elsewhere – Dr. Zingalis works as part of care teams, seeing patients who have nodules in need of biopsy and immediate assessment and triage. Her clinical interests include cancer pathology and cytopathology, which centers on the examination of cells to diagnose diseases. As a pathologist, Dr. Zingalis enjoys being able to provide actionable diagnoses to help treating physicians care for patients.
