Kristel Fernandez-Lopez, MD

Kristel Fernandez-Lopez, MD, is an internal medicine specialist. She believes providers and patients should collaborate to prevent or manage medical conditions. She considers her patients’ values and goals as they discuss the options for care.

Dr. Fernandez-Lopez always knew that her life goals were to practice medicine and help patients improve their health. Being a primary care physician allows her to foster a connection with patients and get to know them well. She values the close patient-doctor relationship and how it aids in building community. Every morning, she is eager to talk to her patients, hear about their families and give them a warm, welcoming experience.

Dr. Fernandez-Lopez studied internal medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch and received a medical degree from La Universidad Autonoma De Tamaulipas in Mexico. She did her Internal Medicine and Community Medicine residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, hiking and ballet.
