Amaka Akinade is a certified wound ostomy nurse with expertise in direct management of patients with complex acute and chronic illnesses. She earned her Bachelor of Science in 2006 at The University of Texas at Arlington. She completed her Master’s degree in Nursing in 2012 at the University of Washington’s School of Nursing in Seattle. In 2018, she achieved certification as a family nurse practitioner after completing the post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner program at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
Amaka has served in a number of nursing roles over the course of her career, including Wound-Ostomy Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Patient Care Services Department at the University of Washington Medical Center from 2012-2013 and Senior Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center from 2014 to 2018, where she provided expert consultation to patients with integumentary disorders and altered elimination. Amaka joined Kelsey-Seybold in October 2018.
