Sumit Perakathu, MD

Sumit Perakathu, MD, enjoys getting to know his patients and their families. Caring for patients and having the opportunity to make a difference in their lives are his favorite aspects of serving as a medical doctor.

Dr. Perakathu pursued a career in medicine to care for underserved people in his community who face challenges with access to care. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Windsor University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Valley Baptist Family Practice. Asthma, diabetes, hypertension, heart failure and preventive care are some of his many clinical interests and passions.

Dr. Perakathu's favorite activities are traveling, trying new foods and spending quality time with his wife and children. He also enjoys serving in his community and helping at his local church.
