Joanna Mendiola-Castaneda, PA, focuses her patient care on listening. She believes patients often provide valuable clues to help practitioners understand and address their ailments.

Her favorite part of her role is helping people become healthier and educating them on managing their chronic conditions. After growing up in an underprivileged community and seeing her family struggle to obtain health care, PA Mendiola-Castaneda was inspired to become a medical professional to help advocate for change. She chose primary practice because it allows her to build long-lasting relationships with patients and follow their care throughout their lives.

PA Mendiola-Castaneda is board-certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. She was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She loves cooking, playing with her children and binge-watching superhero movies in her free time. She is especially interested in helping patients manage chronic conditions such as arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and more.
