Biography

My father was a Methodist minister, so I grew up watching him serve others as we traveled and lived throughout central Texas. When it came time for me to think about what I wanted to do with my life, I knew I wanted to do something that allowed me to serve other people, but to do so in a way that allowed me to use my interest in science.
After I graduated high school in Cleburne, Texas, I earned a B.A. in psychology from Southern Methodist University, then spent a year as a traveling philosopher on a bicycle tour through Europe, the British Isles and North Africa before pursuing my medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
My love for family medicine grew during my internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Center in Tyler. Now 20 years later, I find I value the time I get to spend with every patient. I really try to partner with my patients to help them reach and maintain their best health. Part of that means I view it as my responsibility to stay up to date on the latest health news, research and findings so I can share that information with my patients. My goal as a physician is to help educate patients so they can enjoy the best quality of life possible.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife of more than 20 years'who is also a family medicine physician'and our four daughters. We enjoy living in Fort Worth, and love travelling and outdoor activities in our free time.
