Biography

During my college years, my grandmother was frequently in and out of the hospital. I spent many days and nights at the hospital visiting her. During this time, I was heavily exposed to the healthcare industry. This, along with guidance from my professors, led to my desire to work in the medical field.
In my early days of medical training, I was unsure of the specialty I wanted to pursue. As I advanced, I fell in love with geriatric medicine. I love caring for older adults and guiding them through their healthcare decisions. One of the highlights of my job as a geriatric medicine physician is the opportunity I have to develop relationships with my patients'it's so gratifying. Working in geriatric medicine, I also have the opportunity to help the elderly on a daily basis. Senior patients are sometimes overlooked, but they are so deserving of our care and attention. I find I am often the only interaction my patients have in their days. I view this as a chance to make their days brighter.
I was born and raised in El Paso. I attended University of Texas at El Paso for my undergraduate degree, majoring in biology. I attend medical school at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and then went on to complete my residency in family and community medicine at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, where I served as chief resident. Upon completion of medical training, I spent one year as assistant professor at Texas Tech University Health Science Center. I made the move to direct patient care in 2005 and spent more than 10 years caring for senior patients in El Paso before moving to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex and joining USMD in 2017. I am thrilled to be living in the Metroplex and caring for patients in wonderful Fort Worth community.
I live in Lake Worth. I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and our four children. We enjoy swimming, watching movies, playing board games and also visiting local parks, theaters and museums. I am also fluent in Spanish
