He takes his time with you, he listens to what you have to say, he answers your question and he tell it like it is not sugar coating anything. Now that what I love about my doctor and his staff. That the reason why I stay there and I tell my friend about them to. I know he not the only good doctor in Dallas, but he's my good doctor. I thank God for Well med and the staff there.

Dr. Herrera is, INDEED, an outstanding primary care doctor for me in my sincere opinion! Perhaps the WELMED support staff and support organization are the obstacles that create the negative and disappointing results when we patients try to communicate and get supporting results dealing outside the local office! To further explain....when I try to get a call back from the Medical Assistant, or nurse, or Dr. Herrera himself it seems they are unreachable, or they do not provide a courtesy call back that day or ever. Of course a call back might not be needed if the office staff or whomever could follow through with my request for help!

Dr Herrera is VERY knowledgeable, professional, dependable, cooperative, with a great patient relationship. Any and all my negative comments/grades are related to the front office staff and lack of communication and patient concern skills.

I really like Dr. Herrera as my primary care MD. He is very personable and always works very closely with me to help me understand and to direct me to any specialist that he/I deem appropriate. Those referral doctors are always very receptive and appropriate for my needs. It is VERY DIFFICULT for me to speak to him at any time except at my 1 on 1 appointments. However I have been VERY disappointed with his staff! I can NEVER get a call back from Dr. Herrera (for whatever reason...I doubt the staff even lets him know I want a call), and I must ALWAYS get upset and speak angrily with the staff to get any results for prescription renewals, test results, or questions for the doctor himself? I never get a call back from the staff, until I make numerous calls! This is ALWAYS a fault of the inferior staff......NOT Dr. Herrera!! It happens often to the point that I would change primary care doctors EXCEPT I really like Dr. Herrera! Don't know what else to say other than please give him the support he needs to round out his practice with efficient, effective support! That is the weakest link!

They only take labs once a year. I am type 2 Diabetic with CKD stage 3, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. So I have decided to change my primary physician who lperform labs every three to four months.
