Biography

Marlene Chang-Brown, MD, chose internal medicine as her specialty because she loves caring for and building relationships with adult patients. She strives to make all her patients feel right at home by demonstrating empathy and concern for their well-being.

Dr. Chang-Brown was born and raised in Jamaica. She loved caring for animals growing up but pursued a medical career, given the absence of veterinary schools in her native country. After earning her MBBS at the University of the West Indies, Dr. Chang-Brown moved to the U.S. to complete her internal medicine residency at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center. Geriatrics, menopause and obesity are some of her many clinical interests.

Visiting with patients is Dr. Chang-Brown’s favorite aspect of her job as a medical doctor. She lives in Mission, Texas, with her husband, with whom she has three adult children. Her favorite hobbies and activities are gardening, reading, singing, listening to music and playing the guitar.
