Biography

Dr. Raja has experience in the full scope of Family Medicine, including urgent care, pediatrics, occupational medicine, community medicine/teaching, and preventative medicine.

When interacting with her patients, Dr. Raja seeks to listen and understand. She believes when people feel comfortable and like family, it is easier to work together to achieve their health and wellness goals. In her words, 'Patients have many choices, and if they choose me, they deserve my time, concern, and clinical expertise.'

Prior to joining Healthcare Associates of Texas, Dr. Raja served as Associate Professor in her Residency Program where she enjoyed the opportunity to combine clinical experience, teaching, and research. Not being a fan of the Michigan winters, she moved to Texas and has held roles in urgent care, traditional family medicine, and in the Community Medicine Department at the University of North Texas. Dr. Raja obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from Madurai Medical College in India and then completed her residency in Family Medicine at Wayne State University in Michigan. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and she is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Raja enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading, taking long walks, knitting, listening to music, baking, cooking, and spending time with friends.
