Leigh Fredholm, MD

Leigh Fredholm, MD, is a palliative medicine physician. Her care philosophy is to learn each patient's circumstances and seek the patient's input on how to improve their health. She finds the process of helping patients determine the best course for themselves rewarding.

Dr. Fredholm attended medical school at the University of Missouri at Kansas City and completed her residency at Dell Seton Medical Center. She was inspired to pursue a career as a physician because she saw it as the intersection between her love of math and science and her passion for helping people. She became a doctor at the height of the AIDS epidemic before effective treatments were available, and found her higher purpose in helping patients and families cope with serious illness. 

To Dr. Fredholm, the process of helping patients determine the best course for themselves is rewarding. Dr. Fredholm is a Texas native. She is married and has three children. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, gardening, reading and knitting. Clinically, she strives to meet her patients where they are and understand them as individuals so she can share her knowledge to help them. She is particularly interested in geriatric medicine and is board-certified by ABFM.
