Michael is a very nice man but the day I came in, I came in for wasp sting. Then he wanted me to do bloodwork. I told him I had a meal. Also I was stressed because I was going to go visit a friend that had a broken leg and it was my 30 year anniversary. Of course not a good day to do this. Then after bloodwork was called back in to redo bloodwork but to fast first. Not a good experience overall for me.

I have had so many different PCPs during the last several years it’s like I can’t even refer to them as “my doctor”… I never knew who I was going to see. I would tell them what my pain level was and then when I looked on the portal it would say “no pain”. I truly felt like they would tell me what they thought I needed instead of listening to what I said. Michael Ryan actually asked me so many questions I was surprised because I had never been asked that many before. He seemed truly interested and concerned and took notes. I know how busy the medical profession can be however he was not in a rush to get me out the door. He was very thorough and he gave me some options regarding my back issues that I have had for years and they have helped me. And he was willing to explain whatever I didn’t understand. My initial impression of him was that he was very competent and cared about his patients.

He spoke to me like I was a child. Very condescending. He was more interested in telling me how he was sent to this clinic to bring up their ratings than he was to listen to my needs. He kept pushing things on me that I didn’t want (like the weight loss injections).

I didn’t see Michael Ryan in the Clinic, only twice in my room #7 at the Assisted Living place. The first time I don’t remember well, but the last time I do. He stayed in the room about three or four minutes and he said they were treating me poorly and he was going to send me someplace better. Because I am almost deaf, and I’m on my way to get Cochlear Implants I didn’t want to move at this time. If I couldn’t get the Implants I wanted to go to Mexico City where three of my nephews and families live. He wouldn’t listen, just turned and left the room, without saying a word. Not very polite.

Mr. Ryan listened to my concerns, addressed those he was able, and gave me direction on where to go to address the ones he was unable to. I also felt like I was given honest information, even if it may not have been what I expected or wanted, and I appreciate that. It's not easy to tell a person about the things they may not want to hear or have happen, but to give the best care and build trust that's what needs to be done. Mr. Ryan does exactly that.
