Biography

Marissa Charles, DO, grew up in a small, medically underserved community. She saw firsthand the difficulties patients face when they lack access to quality care. She is committed to providing her patients with the medical services they need to thrive.

Dr. Charles specializes in geriatric medicine and enjoys helping older adults resolve health concerns and improve their well-being. She is proud to help patients live longer and enjoy additional time with their families. She also assists Spanish-speaking patients and those who face challenges communicating with their providers. Her goal is to give each patient the dignity and respect they deserve.

Dr. Charles attended the University of North Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Memorial in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. A lifelong resident of Texas, Dr. Charles was born in Zapata. Today, she lives in San Antonio with her family. In her free time, she enjoys reading fantasy novels and walking with her daughters and poodle, Rory.
