I have been under Dr. Cooper's care as my Primary Care Physician for about 3 years since my previous Dr moved to another facility. I believe my Previous Doctor was top notch with keeping up with my conditions. I believe Dr. Cooper is reliant on the specialist he recommends me to and I have only seen him for Physicals and Refills. The physicals do not seem to be very indepth and would not provide me any advance notice of a problem. They would be the equivilent of a Checkup. The Doctor is a nice man but, my confidence that he is accutely aware of my health or invested in my treatment is very low. I am looking for a new PCP that will be more connected to my various specialist and take point in my overall care.

Being a senior doctor is so needed by older people. I tell my friends to think about going to Dr. Cooper if unhappy with their doctor. I also work out at least 5 days a week and he seems to be happy that I do that.

I'm [omitted] and have had lots of docs, some of them really good, but Chris is head & shoulders above the rest. I feel like we're a team for the past 12yrs when any medical situation arises. He listens carefully to my description of what's going on, tells me what he thinks is going on, then tells me the treatment options plus any other diagnostic options, and asks which one I think is best. I'm diabetic, got careless, and my A1C recently peaked at 8.4. I went to see him, asked for a continuous glucose monitor and a consulting nutritionist. He prescribed, I complied, and 3 months later, my A1C is 6.4. And I'm determined to get it lower. I had the motivation; Chris Rx'd the tools because he's come to trust me, just as I trust him. It's a win-win that will likely not only extend my life but also give me better quality of life during that time. And if I ask Chris something he doesn't know, he'll say he doesn't and promise to find out. Several years ago, I asked about a brand new test regarding one of my medical conditions...so new he hadn't heard about it. He got back with me the next day, said "You're right! There is a new test!!" He prescribed it, and we got more info than we'd had before. Unlike some old school docs I had way back in the day, Chris doesn't think he's God. Sometimes, he gets close, though! LOL

Appointment was [omitted]. Received letter on [omitted] saying I needed a referral. Called office asking about the referral on [omitted] and they said it would be sent over. Referral still hasn't been sent over and its [omitted] (and I had to call to follow up on it)
