Biography

John Thomas, MD, believes the best approach to patient care is getting to know patients and working closely with them to understand their true desires. Family medicine is his specialty, which allows him to enjoy and work with all aspects of medicine.

Dr. Thomas was born in Washington, D.C., and raised as a “military brat” both overseas and in the southwestern U.S. His fascination for anatomy and physiology inspired him to become a medical doctor, as he realized he could build on these interests while using them to help people. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed his residency at R.E. Thomason General Hospital El Paso.

Working with patients to understand their problems and develop the best possible solutions is Dr. Thomas’ favorite aspect of serving as a medical doctor. Allergies, dementia and preventive care are among his many clinical interests and passions. Dr. Thomas lives in El Paso, Texas, where he enjoys photography and photo editing in his spare time.
