George Jackson, MD

George (Walker) Jackson, MD, attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at Galveston and residency at John Peter Smith Hospital. He is board-certified by ABFM. His philosophy is to regard his patients as whole people.

Dr. Jackson originally pursued a career in medicine because he enjoyed science and wanted to have personal interactions with patients. He started working in the medical field as an orderly and a lab tech before attending college and medical school. He chose the family medicine specialty to practice the “full basket” of care. Over the past few decades, he has honed his focus on a mainly geriatric patient population. His favorite part of his job is working directly with patients.

Dr. Jackson was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He is married with four children and five grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys running, skiing, visiting the mountains, electronics (hardware, microcontrollers), scuba and reading. Clinically, he is particularly interested in helping his patients manage asthma, COPD, dementia, depression, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, menopause, migraines, musculoskeletal conditions and obesity.
