She chose family practice because she believes family physicians play a crucial role as the gatekeepers of medicine, addressing a wide range of health issues that affect patients and their families throughout their lifespan.
Dr. Sharon Acevedo's favorite part of her job is developing long-lasting, close relationships with her patients and getting to know them as people so she can care for them physically, emotionally and mentally. Dr. Sharon Acevedo was born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico. In her free time, she pursues martial arts, singing and meditation. She is interested in preventive care and treating allergies, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, among other issues.
