Biography

Monesa Torres, NP, takes a preventive and multifaceted approach to medicine and treatment. She believes her history of medical challenges helps her forge a strong personal connection with her patients. Her top clinical interests are asthma, COPD and diabetes.

NP Torres was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. At the age of eight, she decided to become an NP when she realized God was calling upon her to help her family and community meet then-unfulfilled health needs. She attended Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to earn her Master's Degree in Nursing and Health Sciences and holds board certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Screening patients and seeing how medicine can save lives are some of her favorite aspects of being a nurse practitioner. Her favorite activities include attending church, doing Zumba, watching boxing matches and spending quality time with family. She currently lives in Corpus Christi with her husband, their six children and two dogs.
