Biography

Vanessa Marcelo, DPM, makes meaningful connections with patients to create their individualized treatment plans. She believes educating patients about their conditions is important because it helps them better understand and adhere to their treatment plans.

Dr. Marcelo was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She pursued a career in medicine for the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives and to build on her passion for the sciences. She attended Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine to earn her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and completed a residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at Westside Regional Medical Center. Diabetes, preventive care and sports medicine are some of her top clinical interests.

The instant gratification she feels when treating patients is Dr. Marcelo’s favorite aspect of serving as a podiatrist—especially when patients walk in limping and leave pain-free. She chose podiatry as her specialty because it offers plenty of diversity in respect to the conditions and patients she treats. Dr. Marcelo currently lives in Edinburgh, Texas. Running outdoors and spending quality time with family are her favorite activities.
