Malathi Akula, MD

Malathi Akula, MD, has always been passionate about serving her fellow humans. She considers it a privilege to care for patients and strives to treat them as family. In her practice, she focuses on holistic, well-rounded care that supports patients' bodies and minds.

Dr. Akula enjoys the challenges and complexities of internal medicine. She takes pride in helping patients solve medical mysteries and get to the root causes of their symptoms. She also has a particular passion for older patients. Dr. Akula knows the final decades of a person's life can be a challenging and rewarding time. She seeks to help patients navigate the ups and downs of the aging process.

Dr. Akula attended Gandhi Medical College in India. She completed her residency and fellowship at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in New York City. She specializes in internal and geriatric medicine and is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Though born in India, Dr. Akula is now a proud resident of Orlando, Florida. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books and watching movies. Dr. Akula is married with two children.
