Lazau Fougere, MD

Lazau Fougere, MD, is devoted to establishing mutual trust with every patient he sees at his practice. His patient care model is finding and treating the root cause of a health problem rather than addressing only its symptoms.

Dr. Fougere was born and raised in Port-au-Prince, where he earned his medical degree at the State University of Haiti. His specialty is family medicine, which he feels gives him a broader view of his patient’s lives and greater opportunities to solve their underlying health issues. Palliative care, behavioral health and preventive care are some of his top clinical interests.

Taking time to listen to his patients and educating them about their conditions and ways to live healthier lifestyles are Dr. Fougere’s favorite aspects of serving as an MD. He currently lives in Tampa, Florida, with his wife and four children. Painting, volleyball, tennis, composing music, acquiring new knowledge, spending quality time with family and cooking nutritious meals from scratch are his favorite hobbies and activities.
