Biography

Dr. Varghese's care philosophy is built around preventative medicine, patient education, and establishing a lasting relationship with his patients. He believes that every patient is special and should feel important. He wants everyone to feel part of a big family.

He brings a wide range of knowledge and experience as a Physician and as an Educator to Healthcare Associates of Texas. Dr. Varghese completed his family medicine residency at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. He was selected and served as Chief Resident during his senior year of residency. Dr. Varghese was awarded the Keith Ellis MD Resident Scholarship Award presented by the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians to only one chief resident from the whole state of Georgia. He is board-certified in Family Medicine. He has a passion for patient education and preventative medicine. He was practicing medicine in Augusta Georgia years after residency, serving in multiple capacities as seeing patients in the family medicine clinic, seeing inpatients, serving as a Core Family Medicine Faculty Attending Physician, mentoring family medicine residents, as well as teaching medical students at the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Varghese had professional appointments as Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, Assistant Course Director for Physical Diagnosis for 2nd year medical students, and Faculty Educator at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. His professional affiliations include Texas Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Medical Association, and American Academy of Family Physicians. He is also experienced as an Urgent Care Physician. Dr. Varghese loves spending time with his wife, daughter, and son. Dr. Varghese's personal interests include singing, traveling, and playing the guitar.
