I wrote before that Dr. Streck was referred to me. When I first visited, he didn't even shake my hand and certainly didn't give a yearly physical. When Welmed took over USMD I can guess the doctors were told not to do that because my prior primary doctor stopped doing that. I told him I would wake up and get up because I couldn't clear my throat. He prescribed a medication for GERD and to visit a sleep center. It was determined I have an intolerance for histamine not GERD and called his office I wasn't taking the Rx anymore.

Dr. Streck was very patient and listened to my concerns and took time to listen to my reporting of my symptoms and past experiences with medications. He explained treament options and why i was experiencing the symptoms in the manner I did. He was thorough and patient and provided great verbal explanations. My only suggesttion would be to provide a written report for the patient; when I have seen other practitioners at this location, a written report of instructions has been provided for me to take home for followup reference, but it was not provided at this particular visit. It is not clear if the staff assistant failed to provide it or if it was not dictated. I would have appreciated the written instructiosn this particular time as I was feeling quite sick and was not processing information as well as during other visits when I felt well.

I have no issue with Dr. Streck. He was great. My bad ratings were because My doctor did not respond to my requests. I was told by the staff that they were marking my numerous requests URGENT. I never got a response from the Dr. that I had been seeing for years. I knew she had moved into a more management position but would still be seeing some patients. If I had been told she was not seeing anyone or responding to emails I would have switched sooner.

I normally see PA Gloria Bailey Vertin. Because Ms. Vertin was not available, I saw Dr. Streck. Dr. Streck is professional, knowledgeable, and his communication skills are excellent. Dr. Streck quickly determined the cause of my infection and sent a prescription to my pharmacy. Dr. Streck offered a course of care and followed up with a telephone call a few days later. I highly recommend Dr. Streck and the entire staff at USMD
