Pathik Desai, MD

Pathik Desai, MD, is a 2011 graduate of the Medical University of Lublin in Poland. After relocating to Houston, he completed his Family and Community Medicine residency at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas at Houston (UTHealth) in 2019. Bilingual in English and Gujarati, Dr. Desai joined Kelsey-Seybold as a board-certified Family Medicine physician in June 2025.
As someone who enjoys understanding how things work, Dr. Desai has always been drawn to science and problem solving — and medicine helps him pursue that curiosity while guiding people through uncertainty and helping them make sense of their health. He offers primary care for his patients, including preventive care such as annual physicals, and coordinated chronic disease management for a wide range of conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Dr. Desai also addresses acute concerns like infections, minor injuries, or new symptoms that need evaluation. His clinical interests also include using longevity medicine to help his patients proactively optimize long-term metabolic health, cardiovascular risk, and overall wellness — focusing on lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, and other sustainable habits. Dr. Desai’s favorite part of practicing medicine is building relationships with his patients over time and seeing how small improvements can lead to meaningful changes in their lives.
