About

Amber Martin, NP, practices primary care medicine. She completed her nurse practitioner training at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Ms. Martin pursued a career as a nurse when her last child was approaching school age. She originally wanted to work in labor and delivery, based on her personal experience of losing a baby eight months into a pregnancy. However, Ms. Martin ended up working in a hospital medical-surgical unit and realized she loved helping patients manage chronic health issues. After several years as a nurse, she returned to school to become a nurse practitioner.

Ms. Martin’s favorite part about being a primary care provider is caring for people and educating them about how they can change their lifestyles to improve their health. When taking care of patients, she believes it’s essential to develop treatment plans that are mutually agreeable to both the provider and the patient.

Ms. Martin was born in Michigan and raised in Houston, Texas. She is married and has three grown children, as well as a precious Havanese puppy named Dolly. She loves singing, reading and spending time with her family and church friends.
