Biography

Rickie Soberanes, NP, strives to make every patient feel acknowledged and understood during appointments and takes an active listening approach.

NP Soberanes initially decided to become a nurse to help her community manage chronic medical conditions and prevent further illness. After years of working in a hospital setting, Rickie became an advanced practice clinician to help her patients outside the hospital. NP Soberanes received her graduate degree from the University of Texas El Paso. She is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Family practice appealed to NP Soberanes because it allows her to see patients throughout all stages of life, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, NP Soberanes still resides in El Paso. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, singing and listening to all genres of music. She has two sons which inspired her to advance her career and further her education in the health care field.

    This was a Saturday sick call day. I thought I had a UTI but the assistant told me the urine test I had came back negative (although I was having some burning while urinating and some discomfort. I relayed this FNP Soberanes (who was very understanding and knowledgeable). She asked where my pharmacy was and I explained that as a user of the Military hospital pharmacy that was unavailable on the weekend, I would need a hard copy script to take to a local pharmacy. I was told that she didn't have any scripts and would need to have a pharmacy. I then asked for the prescription to be sent to CVS at 9060 Dyer, El Paso, TX Needless to say CVS never got the prescription on Saturday or Sunday. I called WellMed on Monday morning and spoke with a clerk about the prescription and she pulled up my record and saw the prescription and said she would get back with me. Needless to say, CVS called me on Tuesday that I had a prescription there for pickup. -- 4 days later
