grouchy, no eye contact, did not listen well. he was obsessed with my blood pressure; made me buy a monitor and return for follow up, then disregarded my 46 readings over 2 weeks and insists I return AGAIN with the monitor. yet did not address the two reasons I came in: knee pain and prescription for wegovy (which I will pay for out of pocket). 2 weeks later, texts from the pharmacy, and another call from me - still no prescription.

My former MD retired so I needed to find another doctor. When Dr. Gallegos walked in the room, he was very friendly and had a smile on his face. He was very thoughtful when considering my medical history. He was also patient, when you are [omitted] years old there is a lot of history to cover. My husband has been a long term WellMed patient and he considered the advantages of scheduling routine checkups on the same schedule. I found Dr Gallegos and WellMed to be a great improvement from my prior primary care doctors practice.

Omg This was the first time I felt like a patient that this Dr really cared. He didn't rush. He was very thorough with examining me. He showed concern and I felt valued. He's a Dr with a very caring heart.

He kept saying our patient/dr chemistry was not good. He said I was not going to dictate to him what to do and insinuated that my previous PCP, Dr Barrera just did what I wanted. I knew Dr B for over 25 yrs and he knew to listen to his patients and not just review lab results before deciding a treatment. Dr Barrera was a really good doctor for 25 yrs. I expressed my not returning and Dr Gallegos did say “good luck” finding a new provider. I immediately after the appointment went to Flagship and enrolled with another provider that same afternoon. Good luck to Well Med as I will not return.
