Bertha Vela, MD

Bertha Dorina Vela, MD treats her patients the way she would want her family to be treated. She specializes in treating patients with a holistic point-of-view, addressing a variety of conditions instead of only one.

Dr. Vela received her medical degree from UAG (Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara). She then completed a medical residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso. Her favorite part of her role today as a physician is interacting with her patients and getting to know their families. Since she was a young girl, she volunteered at organizations like the Mexican Red Cross. This inspired her to become a doctor because she enjoys helping people in underserved communities.

Dr. Vela is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). Born and raised in El Paso and CD Juarez, Dr. Vela now resides in El Paso, Texas. When she’s not busy with her patients, she loves spending time with her family, exercising, traveling and reading articles. She is happily married and has one daughter and two dogs.
