i have elevated homocysteine which involves reviewing several vitamin test results and dosages and deciding on blood test draws for that day. this is time consuming and she allowed all time necessary and was very helpful.

She was awesome. She spent an adequate amount of time explaining issues to me and the meds. I did not feel like i was brushed off but there was a genuine caring that i was to get better. and she followed up with me to make sure meds were working and I was not getting worse. That is very important to me as I am a senior. Health issues could go south on me quickly!

This was my second time seeing her. I liked her very well the first time I saw her in 2023. This time I liked her less because she seemed irritated that I preferred an MRI over a CT scan due to the radiation exposure. Because of the new Wellmed system on the computer she had trouble finding the report from my GI dr and was flustered or irritated when I pulled up the report in my portal. It was also like I was supposed to fit in a neat box with what we were doing for my issue and I wouldn’t comply with that, so it upset things. I know what I am and am not comfortable with. I would like a Dr that values my input, after all, I am the patient.

When I call to try to get an appointment with Dr. Barker he is always booked. The practitioner’s is usually available. I know if they aren’t sure about something they can double check with the doctor.
