Biography

I became a family nurse practitioner because I wanted to have a direct role in patient care. I wanted to be involved in my patients' care and help them reach their health and wellness goals.
In pursuit of my true passion, I attended University of Texas at Arlington where I earned a master's degree in nursing, focusing on internal medicine. Internal medicine appealed to me because it allows me to care for patients throughout all stages of life. I get to know patients as individuals and can offer insights based on our interactions over time.. As a primary care provider, I look out for every aspect of my patients' health.
I particularly enjoy patient education and relationship building. When people understand their condition and have a vested interest in their health, they're more likely to exercise their voice. I want my patients to be involved in their care, to know they have a choice in the matter. I'm more than a health care provider to my patients, I'm also their advocate.
I was born in Chicago but have lived in Texas most of my life. So while I may not be a Texan by birth, I am a Texan by choice. I currently live in Arlington. In my free time you can find me spending time with my son who's my pride and joy. Since he was five, we've spent almost every Friday night together. We eat pizza and popcorn while watching a movie. Family time is very important to me.
