Biography

I pursued medicine because I love that it gives me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with my patients all while helping people lead healthy and full lives.
I grew up in North Texas before moving to Austin to earn my bachelor's degree in biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. I then obtained my medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where I developed my interest in primary care. I continued my training at Methodist Charlton Medical Center's family residency program in Dallas, where I earned a spot as chief resident. From there, I went on to complete a fellowship in geriatric medicine at JPS Health Network in Fort Worth.
I chose to specialize in geriatric medicine so I could help meet the complex needs of older adults through 'person-centered' care, with a focus on quality of life, maintaining functionality, and overall well-being. I share a passion for prevention and wellness, along with the management of chronic conditions.
Working in geriatrics gives me the unique opportunity to treat the whole person, not just their disease. The most fulfilling part of my practice is helping my patients lead full lives through the development and adaptation of personalized care plans.
I believe the heart of good health care rests in a strong patient-physician relationship. My approach to patient care is getting to know my patients and their caregivers, in a more personal way. I continually seek to help guide treatments to reflect individual needs, values, and choices. The needs of older adults are diverse, and they deserve specialized attention.
I am excited be living and working back in Fort Worth! In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and family, enjoying nature, and trying out new recipes and local restaurants.
