Biography

Asha K. Samuel, MD, attended Madurai Medical College in India, earning her medical degree in 1973. After relocating to New York City, she completed a surgical residency in 1977, a Pathology/Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology residency in 1981, and a Pathology/Hematology residency in 1983, all at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she also completed a Hematology fellowship. Multilingual in English, Hindi, Spanish, and Tamil, Dr. Samuel joined Kelsey-Seybold in January 2026 as a board-certified physician specializing in Family Medicine.
Dr. Samuel follows in the footsteps of her vivacious cousin, who attended the same medical school and was an inspiration to her. As a primary care provider for patients of all ages, Dr. Samuel specializes in preventive medicine, including well checks, immunizations, and age-appropriate health screenings. She also treats acute and chronic conditions like allergies, diabetes, hypertension, depression, respiratory infections, asthma and COPD, hyperlipidemia, UTIs, anemia, and skin problems. For Dr. Samuel, the most satisfying part of being a physician is helping people in need.
