Had a hard time getting through with Wellmed about why my medication was not called in or was held up at HEB Pharmacy. Next thing I knew a Urology PT place was calling me and I was not aware of this plan. No one informed me about change off pursuing another medication option.

I wanted to leave you with some feedback from my experience at my appointment yesterday ([omitted])with NP SaiHan Yu. Unfortunately, I left the appointment very disappointed. It appeared that she was not fully familiar with my medical history. She did not seem prepared and was really fast to drawing conclusions from the information I was communicating to her during my visit.. For example, she stated that I had previously been diagnosed with an ulcer and H. pylori, which is completely inaccurate. I want to be clear that I have never been diagnosed with either condition by my GI doctor, nor have I ever indicated otherwise. My last visit in 2024 with Dr. G and he cleared me of any conditions other than GERD which could be managed with my current prescription. Although, the PA did talk about facts related to a medical condition, I felt it was very generic and not particular to my personal health conditions. Therefore and because of this experience, I did not feel confident in the care provided. For any future visits, I respectfully request that NP SaiHan Yu not be assigned as my provider. She is an excellent doctor and very professional! I like how she request for any test I might need to get an accurate diagnosis or to get to the root of the problem. How she explains the medical terms I don’t understand and looks up my medical history to make sure I have followed up with doctors visit, appointments and any test.

Ms.Yu listened attentively to my concerns and my description of the issue that brought me to the office and acted very quickly, scheduling an appointment with an orthopedic physician about an hour and a half after the WellMed appointment. She also addressed a separate matter pertaining to a diabetes med. and sent a prescription for it without my having to ask her to do so. She also had lab work performed to check my sugar levels, again without my request. In a word, I would describe her care as excellent.

The best compliment I could give to the nurse practitioner would be that she really cares and understands my needs. I prefer to be treated by her anytime. She is very good at her job and has been very supportive.

I explained this in my previous response about the clinic. NP Yu was very unprofessional, has biases against people on uncertain medications, and reacts to them with judgment, condescension, passive aggressiveness, and a complete lack of compassion. She grew frustrated when I had questions/concerns about a medication she wanted to prescribe me. She made assumptions instead of asking questions. It felt like I was upsetting her by asking questions. I should never feel like that with a healthcare provider. Even following up about the bloodwork, she wasn’t really helpful answering my questions through the technician. And there was really no plan going forward based on my results other than “drink more water." She is clearly suffering from compassion fatigue, and is a dangerous person to keep on your staff.

AP Yu helped get me seen and taken care of. She listened to my concerns and addressed ones that came up in the appointment, that had not been previously scheduled. It wasn't the most thorough physical exam I have had, but I was also unexpectedly ill, and she did make sure that was examined and taken care of, which I very much appreciate!

See previous message. She was able to treat my bronchitis very well. I kept telling her I was unable to breath and my lips had turned purple. To this date, I had bronchitis symptoms for 6 weeks, 3 days, and finally stopped coughing up loads of crap day before yesterday........I was extremely sick, and they couldn't see me in a timely manner. I had been sick for 11 days prior to my visit.

I am giving this rating because I felt the practitioner retaliated against me for choosing a psychiatric nurse referred by a friend rather than the one they recommended. Additionally, I believe they knew from the start that they would not assist with my paperwork but still scheduled an appointment just to tell me they couldn’t help. After speaking with a nurse, I learned that they often deny these requests despite having the ability and discretion to complete them. This made me feel like I was set up to waste my time and money. The entire experience also felt racially motivated, which made it even more distressing. Because of this, I cannot recommend this practitioner.

My encounter with the Nurse Practitioner Yu was okay. However, the follow-up call was riddled with judgment, assumptions, and a micro aggression. Rather than asking how I was the first thing that was asked was if I was going to take my health seriously or not. She stated I was a type A personality that needed to be in control. That I should take some of the love I have for others and give some to myself. And lastly, that I should lay-off the tacos, as if that is all I ate because of why- my ethnicity? I hope that call was recorded so you may go back and listen to the conversation. I'm going to be looking for another doctor and office because of her and I would like to talk about my options of filing a formal complaint.

She was not friendly she felt very cold and not taking the steps to ensure as a diabetic that I was in good health. If she would have looked at my records and saw that my A1C is actually really good compared to previous visits she scolded me on my A1C saying it was too high which at a 6 is not high at all. She also questioned my labs that she had right in front of her I am not familiar with all the medical terms and she spoke to me like I was an expert in the field. No compassion at all. I would not recommend her and I am actually currently looking for another PCP since Dr Rodriguez is no longer avaialbe to see patients as she put it.
