Dr. Nguyen does NOT answer messages on the portal. She referred me to the WRONG specialist and when I called and left a message on the portal to ask her to make the referral to the proper specialist she did not answer my message, did not have any of her staff call me, nor did she return any of my calls. It would have taken her less than two minutes to put in the referral to the proper specialist, instead she did absolutely nothing. After 10 days, someone called to give me the results of my bloodwork and at that time I explained the problem I was having with Dr. Nguyen and her staff and he (a nursing assistant who did not work for Dr. Nguyen, but was helping out) listened to my problem and said he would take care of it, which he did.

Dr Nguyen was thorough when explaining results of my tests and reviewing my meds. She was also interested in my lifestyle, diet, exercise, medical history, etc. I know she had a full schedule of patients but I didn’t feel our visit was rushed. So pleased to have her as my doctor and look forward to many years with her as my primary doctor!

Doctor was friendly but frustrated as prior doctor was not thorough with entering notes in system. As a patient I completely understand but she commented on it which I thought was not needed as that doctor took care of me for 30 plus years. I would suggest that all doctors be prepared since she seemed to come into my first visit unprepared. Again, that could have been because of no notes. I did received documents from prior doctor visits and all had his comments on findings etc. Visit seemed rush.

Ma Nguyen was late, unapologetic about being late, dismissive of a specific health history concern. She spoke ill of insurance companies and seemed to mostly be complaining throughout my entire visit. Moreover, she talked over me on a very specific matter. The matter was regarding a pain specialist I have been seeing. Ms Nguyen took concerted effort to argue I was wrong about my insurance covering my pain specialist. She gave the impression of “I am the doctor here and you don’t know more than I”. I found her combative and unprofessional. She made me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable.

As stated previously, she sent my medication to the wrong HEB, even after specifically reiterating which HEB pharmacy to send the medication request to and she seemed annoyed that I did that. Dr. Nguyen told me I had Ft Sam BAMC as my preferred pharmacy & I explained to her that SOME of my meds are sent there but not all & that's why I had several pharmacies listed. She told me I could only have 1 pharmacy listed! I knew that was not true. In addition, all of the poor marks on this particular survey relate to this past visit only with Dr Wendy Nguyen and her staff/assistants. I had to see her because I was in pain with a UTI and she was the only one that could see me at that time. I will not make the same mistake of ever scheduling with her again. I am extremely happy with Dr Erwin Richard Lochte III and his staff/assistants. They have not had any problems with sending my meds where I request. So whatever you do, do NOT penalize or say I said anything derogatory about Dr Erwin Richard Lochte III or his staff/assistants because that would be untrue and I would be further upset.

Dr. Nguyen listens and seems to care what is going on with me and my concerns. She’s does, however, seem rushed. I am sure she has lots of patient waiting. I feel, though, she would spend more time with me if I needed her to.

Because she told me I could go no where unless she put them on her list. She was also to recommend a surgeon but told me she couldn’t give me the name. She would contact them. That was a month ago. Haven’t heard a word.
