Biography

Jacqueline Carruthers, MD, received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. She feels it is a blessing to give back and help uplift others. She focuses on providing quality care and actively listening to her patient's concerns. 
 
Dr. Carruthers specializes in investigating complex medical scenarios and enjoys forming relationships with her patients. She completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Paul Medical Center. She worked as an internist in the Memorial Hospital system for 20 years. In 2005, she was the first woman and African American to win the physician of the year award at Memorial Herman Hospital. She also built her own state-of-the-art medical building in northwest Houston to serve people in need.
 
Born to an educator, her mother also worked in the oil and gas industry for 30 years. Her father is a retired Air Force Lt. Colonel and was a pilot with a master’s degree in engineering. Dr. Carruthers credits her success to her parents’ example. Today, she resides in Magnolia, Texas. She has been married for more than 20 years and has two children and five grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time with her grandchildren, DIY projects and traveling.
