Rakesh Patel, MD

Rakesh Patel, MD, was born in India and moved to Houston at age eight. He attended University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and completed his residency in the family practice program at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Patel chose family medicine because it allows him to focus on preventive care as well as treating illness. He enjoys working with patients of all ages and making them feel comfortable during their visits.

Dr. Patel believes it is important for doctors to spend time with patients and ensure they understand their illnesses and treatment plans. He feels talking to patients is just as healing as writing a prescription. Dr. Patel's goal is to make sure his patients know he is looking after them and has their best interests in mind.

In his spare time, Dr. Patel likes to travel, go for walks and spend time with his wife and two daughters. He is also learning photography.
