Rakesh Patel, MD, graduated with his medical degree from the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) in 1995. He then went on to complete the Family Medicine residency program at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in 1998. Bilingual in English and Gujarati, Dr. Patel is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who came to Kelsey-Seybold in January 2026 with more than 25 years of experience in medicine.
For patients of all ages, Dr. Patel serves as a primary care physician focusing on preventive medicine and the treatment of a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. These include general illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, seasonal viruses, minor injuries, and more. Dr. Patel’s favorite aspect of practicing medicine is having the opportunity to educate his patients and make them feel comfortable in his care.
