Biography

A. Sahir Saleem, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained internist at Kelsey-Seybold. He attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, earning his medical degree in 1989. Dr. Saleem remained there to complete his internship before heading to the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine in Galveston, where he completed his Internal Medicine residency in 1993. He also completed a Pulmonary Medicine/Critical Care fellowship at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1995. Prior to joining Kelsey-Seybold in June 2025, Dr. Saleem gained extensive experience in a variety of care settings ranging from primary care to inpatient and intensive care.
As an internist, Dr. Saleem provides primary care for adult patients. He prioritizes preventive care to promote overall wellness. Dr. Saleem also diagnoses and treats a wide variety of acute illnesses, such as respiratory viruses, as well as chronic conditions. His clinical interests include cardiovascular disease, respiratory conditions, and dementias such as Alzheimer’s disease. As someone who enjoys the challenge of medicine, Dr. Saleem strives to make an impact on others by offering guidance toward better health and truly enjoys when his patients have a positive care experience.
