Her personal approach seems to override patient's requests. I asked for a particular regulated med & was denied. HER POLICY. This is a controlled substance that I have been on since 1994. Stopping this med at my age ([omitted]) could be more uncomfortable stopping it than continuing. It has never been abused & used totally under control. Never overdosed or misused. Counseling was suggested instead of meds. I'm not opposed to counseling but do not have a private place to discuss some topics such as my husband's health. I cannot & will not talk about my feelings about his PSP & how it effects me while he's sitting beside me. We live in a small apt. in a senior complex. There are no private rooms where I can go without being interrupted or overheard. Evidently seeing a counselor these days FACE TO FACE is a thing of the past. I will not drive to Dallas. If there is a counselor in [omitted], I would be open to suggestions. Being so ridgid & not making ANY exceptions is not acceptable to me. She seems to be a good person & doctor. Her office is much more convenient for us. However, her refusal makes me wonder what else is she may not flexible about. Personal preferences should not interfere with a patients needs.

I had a fracture in my left lower leg and she ask if the doctor checked to see if I had a blood clot which he did not . She changed my medicine to my blood pressure down and and changed the dosage of Metformin to keep me from having low blood sugars. I left her office feeling like she cared about my well being.
