Biography

Yuri Bermudez, MD, is devoted to listening carefully to his patients’ concerns and guiding them on how to practice better self-care. He chose a specialty in family medicine to work with patients of all ages and help them improve their quality of life.

Dr. Bermudez was born and raised in Nicaragua and earned his medical degree at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Nicaragua. He completed his residency at Duke University and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Geriatrics, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and preventive care are among his top clinical interests.

Counseling patients on ways to lead healthier lives is Dr. Bermudez’s favorite aspect of being an MD. He currently lives in South Texas and is the proud father of three children who also work in health care. In his spare time, Dr. Bermudez enjoys fixing things and working on various projects around his home.
