Dr. Salinas is quite knowledgeable. However, she was reluctant to discuss naturopathic alternatives to the medications from which I was having side effects. I recognize that physician training, for the most part, gives naturopathic medicine only passing attention. Medicine today is largely focused on treatment of symptoms. Unfortunately, this bypasses the most capable partner in the healing processes - the person and his/her body.

Dr. Salinas is very thorough whe reviewing my history past and present. I like her bedside manner she's easy to talk to, very professional and " LISTENS"to any questions or concerns at the time of my visit. I'm very pleased to be her patient. I feel it's a well rounded clinic and the Dr's are major players in making it work efficiently! Therefore the rest of the staff fall in place to run a great clinic.

Rushed appt. Doesn’t leave enough time to ask questions without interrupting… [omitted] had to see nurse Bea … I felt like I had a bad sinus infection… she told me it was an infection… didn’t mention what kind of infection … no prescription could be ordered. I was not able to see Dr Salinas because “ she was too busy doing annual exams for her patients”. I was told by front desk! No PA there to see me… several calls made… I was feeling badly!! Bea checked with Dr and was finally prescribed antibiotics but that didn’t cure the problem… I called office again..I wasn’t feeling better. Finally towards the end of The month, [omitted]. a very caring informative apologetic visiting PA from south Austin clinic was able to see me and told me I had acute sinusitis… and prescribed different antibiotics for 14 days which finally cleared up my serious infection. I should not have suffered with this infection for almost the [omitted]. Girls at desk were not helpful and kept insisting that dr Salinas could not see me … she was “ busy doing annual exams for her patients…. “ Wow!!! Why couldn’t office have gotten a PA from another clinic to help patients that needed attention ? Finally a “visiting PA from south Austin” came to my rescue… He was excellent!!! And Very disappointed with their call back timing…. I called office just after 5 pm [omitted]… recovering from Covid… I needed to be retested from Covid or checked to see if I also had a sinus infection.i was feeling bad.. rosie at fri these said they don’t retest covid… I insisted someone needed to call me back…. Nurse Bea was supposed to check with Dr Salinas and would call me back yesterday… no call from Bea … Obviously I assumed that i was not going to be to retested for Covid or to see if I also had a sinus infection….a patient should not have to go thru this… No empathy from Rosie…

She didn’t have a very good bedside manner. It seemed as if she was focused on more of what was in my file and not on creating a comfortable environment, where I felt safe and heard. She also asked questions. I believe that were inappropriate when given a response to her question about where I contracted the HIV virus I feel as if she had a biased opinion towards me and the contraction of the virus assuming that I must’ve gotten it through drug use or promiscuous behavior when in fact, I told her that I had contracted it from a male partner when I was [omitted] that I was in a monogamous relationship with. That made me feel very uncomfortable.

She was a little hurried the first time I saw her; I felt she might not have heard all I was trying to tell her; the second time was much better; I believe I’m going to like her; she was less hurried and more attentive; spent quiet a while talking with me. I felt much better about her.

This was an annual checkup. I was to see Dr. Manteux, but instead was seen by Dr Salina’s without prior knowledge. She did not review my medications. She was not thorough with exam. All she did was listen to my lungs. Nothing else. Not interested with my concerns. She was very abrupt, and I felt like I was wasting her time. I’m to return in 3 months, and when I schedule appointment, I requested to not see Dr Salina’s again. I would not recommend her to anyone. I have always been very satisfied with everything and everyone at WellMed, until this visit with Dr Salina’s.

Dr Edison was our doctor for about 10. We had confidence in her and her treatment for us. After this visit with Dr. Salinas I feel we will have the same repoir. She explained something about my blood work that concerned her regarding my health condition and asked/suggested if I would be willing to increase my medication. She called me at and asked me to come back for bloodwork in 4 weeks to see how I am doing. She seems to be very thorough.
