Biography

Growing up in Fort Worth, I always had a natural aptitude for math and science. After graduating from Paschal High School, I thought engineering would be my future and attended Texas A&M University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. But with engineering I missed the interpersonal relationships that are the core of medicine. Medicine allows me to combine my strengths and apply them in a way that I find truly fulfilling'helping improve a person's life.
During medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, I found my calling in women's health. This led me to residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. In residency, I served as Chief Resident during my final two years and received the Southwestern Gynecology Assembly Award for Outstanding Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine Award for Excellence in Obstetrics. Connecting with patients and educating patients is a huge passion of mine, and this earned me the Arnold P. Gold Award for Humanism and Excellence in Teaching for all four years of residency. I feel blessed to help women on their journey. I love the longevity of the patient-physician relationship in women's health. There are so many milestones that occur in a woman's life, and I love that my patients entrust me with very personal, major life moments. It's a true honor.
I always try to remember that each woman comes to me at a point in her life when she needs guidance as she navigates a new experience or needs help with a specific problem. Many times, there are a lot of questions and emotions associated with each issue. I try to give each woman the time, attention, and care that she needs and deserves.
My husband and I love living in Fort Worth. When I'm not caring for members of our community, I enjoy exercising, cooking, playing with our dog, and spending time with family and friends.
